So the estimate from the body shop arrived in the mail today. The handwriting on the envelope was remarkably similar to the handwriting on the anthrax letters. Hmmm...I didn't want to take any chances, so I microwaved it for 1 minute. Then I smelled burning so I quickly took it out before the minute was up. Thank god it didn't catch on fire. Now there's a big burnt spot on the paper. Stupid body shop.

For its 20th anniversary, the re-release of E.T. was digitally edited so that the FBI agents hold walkie-talkies instead of guns. They're also going to digitally reinsert Jabba the Hutt into a cut scene.

'Kraut' Is Not An Insult?

But Germans in Britain failed to see the humor, saying the word -- which actually translates as cabbage -- was offensive.

"It is offensive. If you were called cabbage, you would not like it. It is the same for us," a German Embassy spokesman told the Daily Mail newspaper.

I like this story just cause I like saying 'kraut'.

At least one good thing came out of the WTC attacks: World Trade Center Attack Leads to Drug Arrest

Six men have been indicted for suspected involvement in a drug ring police discovered after one of the suspects refused to evacuate his smoke and debris-filled apartment near "ground zero" of the World Trade Center attack.

Microsoft's back to their old tricks again. This time, they're blocking access to MSN.com for non-Microsoft browsers. Well, fuck 'em. I never go to MSN.com anyway.

Apple introduced their mp3 player, the iPod, yesterday. It looks pretty cool. 5 gig capacity and a firewire connection. It's also pretty small and the battery's supposed to last 10 hours. But, in typical Apple fashion it's way overpriced at $399. Plus it only works with Macs for now.

Oh man, this is so cool: The Homer Simpson Dot Pal is a doll that plugs into your computer's USB port and it moves and talks based on your actions. So, for example, if you get new email Homer goes "Woohoo!" You can even download new sounds from the website. It costs $50 - $60 though.

The SiPix Pocket Printer is a neat little printer that uses A6 size paper. It weighs a total of 14 ounces total and can work on 4 AA batteries. It's perfect for those of you who need to print stuff from your PDAs.

I finally got through to my insurance guy this morning. At noon I dropped my car off at a body shop in Glendale. I hope they take good care of my baby. Then I went over to Enterprise and rented a Dodge Stratus. Don't laugh, I originally reserved a Chevy Metro but the dude upgraded me cause my insurance agency gives them deals or something. Anyway, in a few days my car will be good as new.

So I was trying to get ahold of my insurance...uh...claim investigator agent or whatever he's called. He left a message while I was at work on Friday, so I called him back and got his voice mail. I called 2 more times and didn't get him, so I figured he went home or something. Which meant I had to wait 2 extra days to get my car taken care of. Anyway, bright and early this morning I called him and got his voice mail again. I called every hour and couldn't reach him. Finally I called the operator at his office, she said she'd go get him. Turns out he wasn't in the office today. What the hell? Where'd he go? What, did he cut work to go hang out at Arnold's with Ralph Malph and The Fonz? Damnit, I want to get my car fixed as soon as possible. I can't bear to see my new car damaged like that.
