I decided I'm going to the ohGr show in Hollywood on the 24th. It's a long drive and I have to go to class early the next day, but it'll be worth it. With Cevin Key joining Ogre for the tour, it's as close to a Skinny Puppy show as I'll ever see. According to Litany, they won't play any Puppy material, but I know it's gonna be a good show regardless. Also, the opening band is Hocico, two dudes from Mexico City. I've never heard their songs, but they're supposed to be pretty good.

Just got back from paintballing. It was fun, but really tiring. Jungle Island has about 10 different fields, and the first one we played was on a hillside. So for 20 minutes we were running up and downhill. Well, I wasn't really running, more like hiding behind a wall. But still. Luckily the next course we played was on flat ground. It was a fairly typical rectangular field with pieces of plywood and junk you could hide behind. I got shot once in the arm. I don't think I hit anyone, cause after I shot I ducked back down so I couldn't see. My aim's terrible too. Real life is much harder than Quake.

With our entrance fee we got a gun, a mask, and 500 paintballs. Combined with the jumpsuits we rented, we looked like the ultimate badasses. It's a good thing we rented jumpsuits too, cause by the end they were really dirty. I got a stupid blue camouflage jumpsuit though. Do they actually wear blue camouflage in the military? Where do they use them, in the water?

And, of course we were playing against the hardcore dudes. They had big fancy rapid-fire guns. There were also little kids playing, and kicking our asses too. The funniest thing I saw was a guy who got shot twice in the eyes. Two bright pink splats over his left and right eyes.

We're about to leave for the paintball place. This is gonna be so cool.

I'm going paintballing at Jungle Island later today with my roommates. I've never done it before, so I don't know what to expect. It should be fun though. I've always wanted to do it. I just hope we don't have to play against any hardcore paintballers. I should go to sleep soon. My roommate wants to leave at 7:45 in the morning. Christ, I don't even wake up for class at 7:45.

Well, looks like I'm gonna be taking that math class over again for summer school. Oh well, fuck it, man, life goes on. Now the important question is, should I bother trying to do good on the final and hope for a C-? Or should I fail in style? Decisions, decisions...

Math sucks.

That is all.

I have a midterm on Friday for a math class that I'm pretty much failing right now, so there might not be any blogging for a while. And if you do see new posts, yell at me.

Even better than Panoramic Quake is NPRQuake, which makes Quake look like a sketch, a blueprint, or a brushstroke picture. It has to be seen to be believed. Check out the screenshots of sketch, blueprint, and brushstroke. Very artistic.

Proof (literally) that girls are evil. Makes sense.

The LA Times reports that gang members are now going for a dress shirt and slacks look.

"Some wear dress shirts and slacks, the better to blend in. And though not adopted by all gangs, the new look is proving to be a headache for law enforcement agencies as they try to keep track of the estimated 130,000 gang members in the county."
So you better watch out: that preppie-looking chap socializing with his cohorts just might bust a cap in yo ass. Word.

Runaway Train Stopped After Uncontrolled 2 Hours. The train was stopped by a railroad worker who jumped on the moving train and pulled the brakes. It was only going 10 mph when he jumped on, but that's still very cool.

Whoa. Austin, Texas beat out San Francisco as the best place to live. Meanwhile, Madison, Wisconsin is the number 2 best small city to live in. Wisconsin? The average temperature in January is 8.2 degrees F!

This dude at Arizona State University wrote about the stupid things his roommate "Matt" did. For example,

"He insists that we lock the door when we use the bathroom. Well, because it hard to tell if someone is in the bathroom when the lights magically turn on and there is water flowing, theses things I guess happen at random where he comes from. Anyways, once in a while we forget to lock the bathroom door, and no matter if the lights are on, the shower is running, or the toilet is flowing, he'll walk right in."
Heh heh, Matt would probably piss me off too. He reminds me of this guy who lived across the hall from me 2 years ago. He was majoring in some kind of engineering and he had a dinky old Macintosh computer, the ones from the 80s with a built-in 9 inch monitor and it couldn't do shit. He had a nasty habit of picking his teeth while he was eating and wiping the food remnants on a napkin. He'd also walk around with his shirt sleeves rolled up to show off his "biceps." Who was he showing off to, us?

One of my roommate's this year(the same guy who lost my camera) is kind of slow too. He'll take something out of the fridge, open it, start eating it, and then realize it's not his food. And every time he goes to the market he buys about 12 frozen pizzas and 20 frozen dinners and fills up the freezer with them so the rest of us can't put our stuff in the freezer.

5 more weeks...

Here's a good article about movies based on video games. Remember that Street Fighter movie? Man, that really sucked ass.

The new video for ohGr's "Cracker" is available for download from ohGr.net. It's a really neat video, lots of cool stop motion animation. And Trent Reznor and Eminem make an appearance too! In tour related news, ohGr will be playing at the Palace in Hollywood on the 24th.
