This site tells you where you would end up if you dug a tunnel straight through the earth. If I started digging from Irvine, I'd end up somewhere in the Indian ocean. Nuts.

Version 5.10 of Opera is now available. The new version is skinnable and has new mouse button navigation and "gestures." For example, holding down the right button and moving the mouse up, then down reloads the page. Very cool. I still don't know why Opera isn't more popular.

Yahoo to Stop Selling Porn. That was fast. Did everybody get all the porn they wanted while they could?

Damn. I let my roommate Khoa borrow my Nikon camera cause he's taking a photography class this quarter. Last night it was stolen from his car (along with his CDs and stuff). What the hell? He had it 3 days and it gets stolen. Luckily he was using my cheap, 50 mm lens, not my more expensive 105 mm. Strangely, though, I'm more annoyed than angry at this incident. I don't know if I can get the same body and lens for the same prices. I feel bad for Khoa too. He was really bummed about losing my camera. Ah well, he'll be fine.

They've really done a lot with PDAs now, like the Eye Module 2, a digital camera add-on to Visors. The camera is a Springboard module that you stick into the Springboard slot. It's small, allowing you to take sneaky candid pictures of people without their knowledge. The max resolution is only 640 x 480 though, and according to the review the quality isn't so good. The review doesn't include any sample pictures, unfortunately.

The Game Boy Advanced was recently released and this guy learned a lot from the manual, such as "Do not use Thor's power to destroy your GBA" and "Do not tickle your GBA."

I went to a military surplus store today and got 2 pairs of "combat trousers"(really, that's what it says on the tags!) I get home, I try them on, and I start finding little stickers hidden all over 1 of the pants. 2 stickers were on the upper, inner thigh, near the crotch. Then there was 1 sticker hidden on the inside of each of the 4 pocket flaps. What the hell? It's like the store clerks were having a contest to see who could hide the most stickers. Yeah, very funny guys.

General Motors Reports Records Sales of New Disposable Car

"Finally, I can feel comfortable teaching my kids to drive the family car," said Harold Sperber of Chillicothe, OH. "And when my oldest misbehaves, I can threaten to throw his car away."

This is just sad: the latest advertising idea is putting ads on cheerleaders' midriffs.

I got my negatives processed at Pro Photo on Friday. I'm happy to announce that most of my pictures came out ok, from what I can see at least. I'm still not entirely confident in my ability to use a fully manual SLR camera. When I took a photography class last summer I had so many bad photos. And this time I took some night shots, which are tricky to meter and expose properly. I'll find out the results of my efforts when I make prints later this week. I need to get to the photo lab.
