The Awful Truth, Michael Moore's new show, is available on DVD. All 12 episodes of the first season are on the disc. This is cool for people like me who don't have cable.

I finally found something more silly-looking than people riding Razors: people riding this bike. Hee hee hee.

Shutterfly is one of those new online photolabs. You send them your film and they develop it and put it on their website for you. They also make prints from both film and digital pictures. Negative development is free, but if you want prints you have to pay. Anyway, I sent them 2 rolls of color film. Unfortunately, the pictures they put on the website are way too small to see any detail. From what I can see, though, they look pretty good. I think I'll just take the negatives to a photolab around here to make prints, though, rather than order them from Shutterfly and wait around a few days.

Blogger's been acting weird the last few days so I haven't tried to post much. Anyway, I'm gonna stay here this weekend, though I'll probably regret it Saturday night when I'm bored out of my mind.

Gee, I really have to admire a police department that arrests 12 year old girls for eating french fries. Just another example of the Man keeping us down.

It looks like the Final Fantasy movie might bring about the end of human actors.

Uh oh, we're part of England again. Among the rules that take effect immediately:

6. You should stop playing American "football". There is only one kind of football. What you refer to as American "football" is not a very good game. The 2.15% of you who are aware that there is a world outside your borders may have noticed that no one else plays "American" football. You will no longer be allowed to play it, and should instead play proper football. Initially, it would be best if you played with the girls. It is a difficult game. Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which is similar to American "football", but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like nancies). We are hoping to get together at least a US rugby sevens side by 2005.

If you only click on one link today, check this out: The Matrix trailer done in ascii. It looks better from far away. This reminds me of the text mode Quake someone did, where the whole game is in ascii characters. I couldn't get it to work though cause it's for Linux.

Oohhh, Sega burned Sony. They even put that picture on a billboard truck and drove it around the Metreon a few times.

How cool, Ellie knows my old roommate Irving. I asked him about her and he says he doesn't know her. But then again I don't think he knows anybody in Calpirg.

I have a program due at noon and I'm just about finished. I've been working since 5:00 pm straight and I'm about to collapse. Geez. For a few hours I was stuck on a particular problem, but I fixed it. I think it's one of the greatest feelings in the world when you change one thing and your program works almost perfectly all of a sudden.

Here's an interesting review of porno filtering software. This program can apparently determine whether or not a picture is pornographic. The reviewer tested a bunch of pictures with mixed results, like the photo of George Bush Jr. that the software blocked.

I came back from the lab and my apartment was clean. Someone had washed the dishes, straightened out the furniture, threw away the pile of junk mail on the coffee table, and cleaned up the dead ants on our counters. I should go to the lab more often.

Just finished enrolling in classes for next quarter. So far I'm taking 12 units. I want to add another course, but there's nothing I can take that doesn't conflict with the other 3 classes. My schedule rocks too. Monday through Thursday my first class is at 11:00 and last class is at 2:00.

I'm trying to plan my classes for next quarter and they almost all conflict. And some of the classes I want to take are part of a sequence, and the first class is only offered once a year, so I have to wait till next year to take the whole sequence. So I have pretty much nothing to take next quarter. Stupid UCI. It's a wonder people ever graduate in 4 years.

You ever visit a webpage with a dorky "Under Construction" icon? This page gives plenty of examples why you shouldn't use them.

I'm listening to Senor Coconut's cover of Kraftwerk's Homecomputer, and if you haven't heard the song, at the beginning a voice repeats "It's more fun to compute." Noel hears that and asks, "Than what?" I dunno, doing it by hand I guess. They should make that the ICS slogan. I can see it now:

Information and Computer Science
"It's more fun to compute."
Then over at the math department you'll see:
Mathematics
"No it's not."

In the newest issue of Revolver is an interview with Trent Reznor and Roger Waters of the legendary Pink Floyd. I've been listening to some Pink Floyd recently and I have to say, there's definitely some similarities to NIN.

I went home for the weekend, so there weren't any posts. Saturday afternoon we went to a dinky computer show in Pasadena. All together I'd say there were 5 dealers; 2 sold shitty used junk and none had what I wanted. So that was a waste. Also watched Charlie's Angels. I really liked the attitude of the movie, that fun, don't take things too seriously feeling. Music was cool too. And, damn, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore are really hot. I mean, they were hot before Charlie's Angels, but they're even hotter now. They're magically babelicious.
This morning me and my brother went to a big comic book show in LA. I used to collect comics, but I stopped a few years ago. Anyway, I didn't have anything else to do today so I thought I might go to a show again just to see what's happening. When we were waiting in line, we saw these 3 dudes in stormtrooper costumes walking towards us. For just a brief moment I thought they were going to hassle us. Arnold Schwarzenegger was supposed to be there, but we left before he came. The cast of Dungeons and Dragons was also there, although the only person I knew was Thora Birch from American Beauty. We didn't stick around to hear any dorky questions the audience was bound to ask though. My brother picked up Ash and Kaneda toys. I got a few issues of Dark Minds, a cool anime-style comic. While we were walking around, who should we see but Dr. Zaiuss from Planet of the Apes, sitting at a little table by himself. It was kind of sad actually, this old man being ignored by most of the people there. So we ignored him too and moved on. Anyway, the comic show was fun, if only to find out that my old comics are worth absolutely nothing.
