Just finished watching Ghost Dog:The Way of the Samurai on DVD. I wanted to see it in the theaters, but it was gone before I had time. Luckily it came out on video fairly fast. Anyway, I really liked it. Ghost Dog is the epitome of cool. He does everything in such a relaxed manner that you don't believe he could be a hitman. The juxtaposition of hitman and samurai cultures was very original.

After I got my digital camera, I signed up at one of those websites that offer prints from pictures you upload. I got some free prints when I signed up, and they were about to expire so I used them. My pictures arrived today, and they look really nice. They look just like prints from a traditional film camera. They even used that glossy photographic paper that says Kodak on the back. Very cool.

Digital Photography Review has a review of the FujiFilm FinePix 40i, a combination digital camera/mp3 player. It's a cool idea, and it looks nice, but it has a few problems. Mp3s and pictures are stored on the same memory card, and it comes with either an 8 or 16 mb card. You're gonna run out of space fast. You must use a special kind of SmartMedia card too, to prevent mp3 trading. The picture quality's not all that great either.

I've noticed that most bloggers do a redesign every 4 or 5 months or so. Sometimes even more frequently. Which means it's just about time that I should redesign. Hmmm...maybe I'll change this to Running Green Lights. Nah, that doesn't make any sense at all. Running Yellow Lights? That's not cool, everybody does that. Maybe I should move in an abstract, cubist direction. Lights Running Red.

It always makes my day when the latest issue of my favorite comic is out. On Friday I stopped by a local comic shop and picked up Optic Nerve #7. If you've never read Optic Nerve or anything by Adrian Tomine, do so immediately. Optic Nerve has some of the most realistic, compelling stories I've ever read. His characters could easily be people I've known or met throughout my life. His stories have sad endings, but that's how life is. If you're still hesitant, read these two one-page strips.

Not much happening lately. I don't feel like blogging anything. This site never gets hits anyway so I don't think anyone's going to notice or complain.

I developed 2 rolls of film all by myself. I'm really proud of that. I might have a slight problem for my photo class though: I was planning to use my dad's Pentax SLR, but the light meter doesn't work. At first I thought the battery was dead, so I had to special order one from Radio Shack. Battery arrives in the mail today, and I stick it in the camera. Light meter still doesn't work. So now I figure the light meter's broken. I gotta get a camera soon, cause I have another roll of film due Monday. I think I'll check out some used camera stores tomorrow. My savings account is draining.

Well whaddaya know, I guess I did have something to blog.
