I'm going home for the long weekend, so posts will be sporadic.

Got my access code for the Diablo 2 stress test. Heh heh, there go my grades.

Just got back from Mission:Impossible 2. I thought it was a competent action movie. Certainly not the worst I've seen, but not quite the best either. The action scenes were awesome though, they made it worth my money (actually, my friend's money: he treated me). John Woo did not disappoint for this movie. But, again, it's not the best he's done. He still hasn't topped the incredible hospital shootout from Hard Boiled. Anyway, at least my night wasn't boring.

Heh heh, thanks. I have my name somewhere on my site, don't I? Maybe it was one of those little things I overlooked. Anyway, it reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Rev. Lovejoy's giving a sermon, and he says something important and Lenny jumps up and yells "Yeah, that guy's right!"

Now you can access the net with a TI calculator. I have a HP so I can't try it out. I remember in high school we were issued TI-86s for our statistics class, and there were these dudes who would do crazy stuff with their calculators. They'd have games running and cool pictures and little programs that would solve quadratic equations. One guy even got his calculator to crash. Ah, the good ol' days. [ From Slashdot ]

NIN.com's semi-daily picture is of Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) with John Carmack (programmer god). I thought that was neat, bringing together two of my favorite things (industrial music and gaming).

Ohhhhh...scary. The Spirit Website has lots of paranormal-related articles, such as ghost stories, ghost photos, and how to build your own spirit detecting toolkit. I think my dorm is haunted, some weird stuff has happened in the past.

Hmmm...Ebay's search engine is acting funny today. I searched for a Canon Powershot S10 and it returned a postcard, a Star Wars doll, Snoopy and Lucy stuff, and a Temptations book. I can kind of understand the postcard, but the Temptations? Even if they are the quintessential Motown vocal group, I don't see their connection with digital cameras.

Woohoo! Today's my birthday. The big 21. Yep, it's all downhill from here. The next big thing I can look forward to is senior citizen's discounts when I'm 65. I've also started to accept the fact that the average Playboy playmate is now younger than me. I had my first, er, sip of alcohol last night. Around midnight my friends brought around a shotglass of vodka. Now, I'm straightedge, but, you know, peer pressure man. So tried a little bit. Ick. Fucking nasty. Tasted like Robitussin, and I hate Robitussin. So that's the end of my experimenting with alcohol. More on the festivities later.

This sucks ass. I'm stuck in the computer lab for the second night in a row. I finished my part of the coding but the rest of team's not here. Oh well, time to do some blogging.
1:24 AM
The Digital Bits has a look at Star Wars bootleg DVDs. I thought it was amusing that the pirates actually bothered to add in the Fox Home Entertainment logo and THX and Dolby trailers.

Britney wants you...to win her bustier! This wins my prize for tackiest, skankiest contest of the year. Ick. I have no idea where her breasts have been.

The German government is planning to ban Microsoft Outlook because of the program's problems with viruses. I use Eudora myself. I was lucky too, none of my friends got the virus, or if they did they didn't send it to me. I probably jinxed it now, the next big virus will probably make my monitor explode in my face or something.

Here's a different review of Battlefield Earth: "What Battlefield Earth Did Right." Apparently it's optimistic and uplifting or something. I'm still not going to see it though.
10:14 PM
Steve's Digicams has a first look at the Canon Powershot S100. Now that's a tiny camera. It's about the size of a credit card! Well, it's much thicker of course, but it's still very small.
9:48 PM
I'm in the computer lab right now. Why am I blogging instead of hacking? Uh oh, lab's closing in 5 minutes.
6:50 PM
I prefer the Privatized Corporate Dystopia.

I spent a hour fine-tuning my site Friday night, fixing little formatting errors that were driving me crazy. Also added links to my other sites. I'm planning on writing more real content for this site, maybe rants and some short stories I've written. Probably not this week though, I have a big lab due Thursday.

Went to this Mardi Gras thing at the student center tonight. It was pretty crowded, especially for a Saturday night in Irvine. There were booths selling food, psychic readings, a dude doing stuff with fire, a mime, a band playing and people dancing. The trees on the student center patio were strung with Christmas lights. There wasn't all that much to do, it just had a cool, outdoor party atmosphere. You have to understand, weekends at UCI are dead. Absolutely nothing happens between Friday night and Monday morning. So this small Mardi Gras festival tonight was the coolest thing to happen in weeks. We need more of these kinds of things.
