Here's some footage of Escape from Monkey Island from E3. I just hope going 3D doesn't ruin the game like it did Kings Quest and Quest for Glory.

Now this is just cool: Angry Shareholder Halts Meeting with Grenade". I'd be able to accomplish so much if I had a hand grenade.

11:19 AM
Hee hee, this is like something out of a Naked Gun movie: Police Searching for Lost Machinegun. My favorite line: "The weapon -- which newspaper reports said fell out of a police car..."

11:08 AM
Another reason I want to go to Japan: There are stores that actually sell parts to make your own mp3 player.

10:42 AM
( Uh oh, I'm 2 and a half hours late for work. Don't tell my boss )

Ha ha, this is hilarious: Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Pirated MP3s. Love those little illustrations.

My professor's cell phone went off in the middle of class today. That was ironic, don't you think?

I have a lot of stuff going on with my recreational drug farm this week, so there won't be much blogging.

On a related note, Star Tours is still one of my favorite rides at Disneyland. It's rumored there's going to be another Star Tours ride based on the prequels too. Right on.

12:15 AM
Not to insult the author of the page, but if I went to Japan and then went to Tokyo Disneyland, it'd be just a little bit weird. Kind of like going to Japan and eating McDonald's for every meal.

What's with those guys who rest their sunglasses on the backs of their heads when they're not using them? What the fuck is that? Is it faster than just pushing them up on top of your head? Is it symbolic of having eyes in the back of your head?

For example, I was lounging in class this morning, bored out of my mind, when suddenly the guy sitting in front of me woke up, looked around, then unfolded his stylish sunglasses and put them directly on the back of his head. I just wanted to slap the guy. "Either wear them right or just put them in your pocket," I wanted to say.

Some trends just really piss me off.

5:25 PM
Notebooks Faster, But Why Not Cheaper? Yeah! Damn right! Meanwhile, what's going with those Transmeta notebooks that were supposed to weigh less and have longer battery life?

5:13 PM
I've always wondered about those "lingerie models wanted" ads I see in the school newspaper.

4:57 PM
A review of Japanese junk food. I really want to go to Japan one of these days. I just want to check out all the cool, weird stuff they have there.

3:04 PM
Now here's something cool out of good ol' UC Irvine. I don't entirely understand it, but it has something to do with networks and distributed architecture based on biological concepts. I couldn't get into the site but I'll try again later.

The Professor Who Took His Work (And Himself) A Little Too Seriously. This story is just weird.

Ha ha! This is hilarious: Stephen Hawking Builds Robotic Exoskeleton. Man, I love the Onion. And to think, I'd never even heard of it up until a few weeks ago.

9:11 PM
Pioneer has the world's first DVD recorder. Now when your DVD burn messes up you can lose even more money than a CD-R mess up.

Internet Start-ups Forced to use 'Money'. Heh heh.

So E3 is over now and I'm going through all the coverage on the game sites. If you don't know anything about the "booth babe" controversy, here it is: E3 is a huge show where all the game companies have to compete with each other for the gaming press' attention, so to attract more visitors to their booths they have scantily-clad babes pretty much "on display." Now I have to admit, I checked out the booth babe pictures just like every other guy would do, even though I know it's stupid and exploitative. I can't believe the companies get away with it. They're giving us gamers a bad image. I'm surprised there haven't been more complaints about this practice and that it hasn't been banned yet.

I noticed they fixed that little Blogger bug where the archive html files it generates lose the carriage returns, so that everything gets squished into a few long lines. Damn, I love Blogger.

I just saw the commercial for Road Trip and Story of Nothing, by The Aquabats, was playing in the background. Coincidentally, I've been obsessed with that song lately: I play it at least 5 times a day. Anyway, that's just a little thing that amuses my simple mind.
