I didn't find out about this until it was almost too late: Today is Blog Weblog Wannabe Day! Cool.
5:29 PM
Yikes, another boring Saturday afternoon. I feel like going out, but, really, there's nowhere to go in Irvine unless you want to spend money. And I don't cause I already blew $50 last week. I should do some homework: I have a ton of stuff due next week. Then again, it's too early to do homework. I'm soooo bored. I wish there were more people around, everybody went home for the weekend. Ok, that's enough of my complaining.

I didn't know they have a Squid Festival in Monterey, California. In fact, I didn't know squid festivals even existed. This article also has a recipe for spicy salted squid, which I might try to cook if I can get around the ickiness of touching squid with my bare hands (sure, but I have no problems eating squid).

How to Ruin Someone's Life. Most of the stuff here is just evil.

Hmmm...not much to post today. Oh yeah, highindustrial said Running Red Lights "is a nice little blog at two o'clock in the morning." Heh heh, cool. I'm your late night entertainment.

An advance review of Fight Club on DVD. It's a 2 disc set loaded with extras like audio commentaries and deleted scenes. I loved this movie when I saw it last year; I'm definitely getting the DVD. Digital Bits also has an interview with director David Fincher.

My latest addiction: Wetrix. I've been playing the demo for the past few days now. It's similar to a 3D version of Tetris where you use the blocks to build reservoirs for water. If too much water spills off the world you lose the game. There's cool stuff like meteors that evaporate all the water and bombs that punch holes through the world so that all the water drains out. The bad part is that the demo is limited to 3 minutes only. The good part is you can buy the game for $10.

Once again, take that you fucking corporations! Jesus, CD prices are up to $18 now. That's just too much. [ From Slashdot ]

Finally finished with all my homework. Time to get, er, 4 hours of sleep. Damn.
2:05 AM
Ugh, just spend 5 hours in the computer lab doing the documentation for my stupid AI homework. And I'm still not done! Looks like no sleep for Evan tonight.

Ha! Take that corporate America! What kind of name is Verizon anyway? [ From Mike's Weblog ]

This is neat, a portable mp3 player that uses those cool IBM MicroDrives. The only problem is, the mp3 player is ugly as hell! What the hell were the designers thinking! They must've been smoking some really bad crack. And it's not bad enough that it looks like a Star Trek phaser, it looks like a cheap Chinese knock-off of a children's version of a Star Trek phaser! If I ever walk around carrying one of those I'd have to shoot myself.
10:21 PM
I wouldn't mind helping build a spacecraft. All I ask in return is a ride around the earth.

Lately I've been listening to Lounge music. There's just something retro-cool about it. Anyway, Vik Trola's Lounge of Self Indulgence has everything you could possibly want to know about lounge music and culture. The Roots of Lounge has a history of lounge music for all you hepcats out there. And finally, Tiki News zine is dedicated to preserving South Seas Polynesian Pop of the 50s through 70s. Swingin'!

Heh heh, I got my Backstreet Boys-N*Sync listening roommate listening to Nine Inch Nails now.

When I was in junior high I used to think testing games would be the coolest job in the world. After reading this article, though, I know better. Besides, everyone knows lumberjacks have the coolest job in the world.

Instant messaging for Palms. Why didn't they do this sooner? I think some of the problems, though, are that wireless internet access is still too expensive and too slow, and it's not available everywhere. A better idea is to have pagers or cellphones that can send and receive instant messages. Although it'd be a pain in the ass typing messages from a cellphone's number pad. And I'm not sure I want assholes ICQing me for cybersex on my cellphone.

Hey, these flexible keyboards are cool. I can just imagine walking up to someone's computer and sliding aside his keyboard, and they ask, "Hey man, don't you need a keyboard?" And I say, "No man, I have my own." And then, with a flick of my wrist, I pull my rolled-up keyboard out of its holster, unroll it, and slap his face with it. [ From Slashdot ]
